The 2008 Milford Fair again proved that , in the words of the late Phil Dodds, it is “the greatest Fair by a Dam sight”. An estimated 1500 people descended on the Fair Grounds and spent an enjoyable afternoon vis- iting with old friends, the kids were kept busy painting pumpkins, building bird feeders and winning prizes in challenging races. A special thanks to Charlie Vincent, aka Dr. Joe, who brought Murray Head’s idea of an old fash- ioned Medicine Show to life along with the great lineup of talent arranged by Suzanne Pasternak.. There are too many people to thank individual- ly and I would miss someone but I truly appreciate the help of the Directors of the Fair Board, the volunteers at Fair time, the people who bake pies and make sand- wiches, those who enter exhibits and all the people and businesses who contribute so generously. Without this community spirit the Milford Fair would not be what it is today. I also want to thank the County of Prince Ed- ward Recreation, Parks and Culture and Public Works for their support. Although Joseph Clapp built his Saw Mill here 200 hundred years ago, it is the spirit of the people of South Marysburgh that has made the area what it is today. - Bruce Dowdell President, Milford Fair Board. niside { nis Issue. ® Fish Guts ® Roots and Wings 9 ® Druella Acantha Malvina 11 @ In God We Trust 13 ® Life in the Past 18
