After dinner Strat Arthur and I went down to the Point hunting had very poor luck. Stayed another night with M Fri.2 Arthur McCrimmon come home with me. Pa and Dan making ready to kill hogs. After dinner we killed two pigs . George Palmateer come here. After Tea we went out to ague. Sat. 3 Emmit Wood and Mary Ellen went down to Jakes. Pa and I went over to Picton. I got a pair of boots ordered $3.25 price. There was a large crowd in Picton Many buying Christmas presents for their girls. Sunday 4 I went out to Arthur Farrington stayed till after dinner. Then Arthur and I went out to Effie Thompson's. M. was there. We all went to meeting. After meeting went to Marsh Spaffords. It was a very rough night the wind blew a gale from the north east with rain & snow we stayed till morning. Dec.5 Ground covered with snow November of parties. Just getting home this morning from yesterday's visiting. It has snowed some to day. Seen some cutters driven to day for the first. Dan and I made the Crout to day. Tu.6 Snowed some to day. We cleaned up the Buckwheat. Altogether this was 75 bushels. Emmit Wood come here last night come form Jake's left his buggy to Picton and got a cutter to come home with. I went out to ihe Carman to practice for the Christmas entertainm We.7 Snowed and drifted all day jong making good sleigh- ing. Byron come out to day. Th.8 Very cold weather we are having now lots of snow for sleighing. After supper I went down after M. and we come to the Carman to practice. Fri. 9 I have not been doing much to day. Archie and Will Wattam got home to night from their visit back to Flinton. Dec. 10 Dan and I went over to Picton. The wind was Nort West and the day was quite cold. Snowed and drifted some from Milford to Picton they drove the fields most of the way as the roads where piled up so with snow. There was a large crowd at Picton many buying Christmas presents. Sunday 11 Still it is drifting and quite cold. Pa and Ma went up to Annie Mauds. I went down to M.s. Emmit Wood here stayed all night. Mon. 12 Emmit went over to Samuel Farrington after M. E. H. and to take S. F. cutter home. It is very cold today. Tu. 13 It is very cold this moming 12 below zero. Pa and Ma are up to Annie Mauds. Party at Wesley Wattams to night I intend to go if nothing happens. Wed. 14 It has been quite blustry to day and quite cold yet There where a large number at Maggie's party last ni; M and I where there had lots of fun. I got hurt a little. Dec. 15 We found eight pigs this morning. Was a little sur- prise we were not looking for them yet. Pa and Ma are up to Annie Mauds yet. A Sale at Abram Gannons to day. Fir. 16 Archie and I drew up some wood. The weather is some milder to day and looks some like rain. I am going out to Leaque to night. Sat. 17 Time 8:30 am raining this morning very sorrow wish it would tu to snow. I was out to Leaque last night M was there took her up to S.E.R. to get a waste m: Sunday 18 The snow is leaving very fast. I went out to Ed Rorke. M was out there. Got her new waist finished. She intends to wear it to Girtie Hineman's wedding on the 20. Mon. 19 Turned colder last night wish it would snow. Archie MLE. Ida Stirling and I went down to Myrtle Spafford Examination. Tu 20 Rained some to day. Ida and Dan went over to Picton. Most of our snow is gone. I am going down to the wedding. Girtie Hineman and Morley Clark to be united. Dec.21 I was down to Girtie's wedding last nigh M and I stood up . They where married at Seven oclock and supper at eight. There must a been about 20 couple there. After tea was over the Shiverie parts come. They where called in and treated to Cigars and cakes. After the party left we had a little dance and left for home about 1 oclock wishing them a long happy and prosperous life. The sleighing is all gone and every one is driving wheel again. Th.22 Christmas doyings at the Carman to night we are all intending to go. I don't think there will be many turn out as the weather looks very rainy and the wheeling very poor. Fri.23 Archie and I went out to the Church to help clean it up. I was surprise to see the crowd at the church last night they made 32 dollars at 30 cts a couple the night was not ex- tra as it rain some. George Palmateer and maggie, Lillie Thurston is here to day. Sat. 24 M and I went over to Picton finding the roads very poor. M lost her hat going over. She bought cloth for a new Ulster a pair of corse boots and some other little articles. Sunday 25 Christmas day I was at Mr. Spaffords Edward Rorke and wife where there. We had the pleasure of eating a goose and a couple of rost chickens. It was a lovely day and I enjoyed my self very much. Wonder where I will be a year from this date. Mon. 26 Ma and Pa went back to Jake's yesterday drove the buggy. Trying to snow some to day. I wish it would snow enough to make good sleighing. Tu. 27 I went out for a little hunt had very poor luck. Went on out to Ed Rorke. M. was there. We. 28 Froze up very hard last night and it is very cold to day ay. Dec. 29 Warmer again this morning. Pa and Ma haven't got back from Jake's yet. I went up after some grinding to A Colliers. M come down with me from Geo. Colliers. Fri. 30 Rained some this four noon. Mirt is at Ida's visting. We played Lost Heir. Dan and I played against Archie and Mirt. We crushed them very bad. The first game they where 13 in the hole. After Tea I took Mirt down home.
