On December 16" families and friends gathered by the Christmas tree on the post office lawn to witness the lighting of the tree. Monica Alyea as master of ceremonies welcomed everyone and thanked the community for this wonderful event we have had for over 10 years now. This year all the wonderful traditions of Christmas were included. The Miller presided once again over the events and we were pleased that Kevin Renaud Wilkinson was again able to come from Toronto to throw the switch and light the tree. Lynette Pettit led the caroling despite the cold and having a cold. And who can forget the look on the children’s faces as Santa Claus arrived and the terrific warm cider for the adults. Santa Lucia led the procession to St Philip’s followed by the children carrying glowing candles. We were warmly greeted with hot chocolate, an abundance of homemade goodies, and Blaine Way with his horse drawn wagon to take people for rides around Milford. Inside there was a special treat this year. Judy Cole presented a wonderful puppet show! I'm not sure who enjoyed it more, the kids or the adults. It is very exciting to see the tradition of the Milford Community Christmas grow. We are truly blessed to live in a community where there is such good will and traditions can thrive.
