Many in- teresting savoury dishes satiated our appetites with ample desserts to top off our meal. The aftermath of dirty dishes was quickly dispensed as many hands make lig rk. At 1:30 Sandra Emlaw opened our meeting with a different interpretation of the song "The Twelve Days of Christmas". The meanings were as follows: The partridge personified Christ; two turtle doves - the old and new testaments; three French hens - faith, hope, love; four calling birds - four gospels - Mathew, Mark, Luke and John; five golden rings - Torah - first five books of the old Testament; six geese - six days of creation; seven swans - gifts of the Holy Spirit - prophesy, serving, teaching, exhortation, contribution, leadership, mercy; eight maids - eight beatitudes; nine ladies dancing - nine fruits of the Holy Spirit - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithful ness, gentleness and self-control; ten lords - t mandments; eleven pipers - eleven faithful disciples. tweleve drummers - twelve points of belief of the Apostles’ Creed. Our theme hymn, purpose and Lord's Prayer followed. For our roll call, twelve members told of their most memorable gift they received at Christmas. Joyce Minaker's devotional was taken ‘Tom Luke 2, verses 22-35 showing God's love by giving us the ba- by Jesus. He was sacrificed for us to prove that His love is stronger than our sinfulness and selfishness. The minutes of the Nov. meeting were read and ac- cepted. Some items to be noted: A thank you was received from the Picton Food bank for our donation. The senior's luncheon will be held in Milford Town Hall at 12 noon Dec 23 for $10 each. Bring your own dish- es and cutlery. Tonight, Wed. Dec, 8, a ceremony to light the Christ- mas tree in Milford at 6:30 with sleigh rides by Blaine Way and refreshments after at St. Phillips Anglican Church. South Bay United Church wil host the World Day of Prayer on Fri. Mar. 4, 201 Our UCW moved to Nonate $5000 to our South Bay Church. After some discussion, the ladies thought it would be better to have the 11:00 o’clock Christmas Eve ser- vice at Black Creek Chapel as usual. The ladies moved permission for Women Around Noon to have a catered lunch at our church in Sept. Our Jan and Feb meetings for 2011 were organized. Our card convener sent four get well cards and two sympathy. The ladies then dispersed to wrap presents for two needy children for Christmas. The ladies also donated hats and mitts to be given to our school children. Karen Guernsey volunteered to deliver them. The meeting closed with prayer.
