wt ib} Emily Fennell to Appearon TV a a For the second year, our own Emily Fennell will compete on "Home Grown Cafe, on CJOH television. The first show in which she appears, will be Sunday, Nov. 28, when she will compete in the vocal music category. Predictions are that she will win the category on that evening and go on to the semi-finals. She will perform again on the show Feb 6, where it is predicted that she will win the semi-finals. Her final appearance will be on the 27th of February and you'll have to watch to see how that turns out. For Emily, the high point of her career to date was an incident that occurred the evening after the final show in which she appeared was taped, when her parents took her out for dinner before a Michelle Wright concert. They stopped in Trenton to eat at a place called "Mickey's", where a young friend Emily had made while performing on *Home Grown Cafe' was appearing with her family as the entertainers. The Wilkinsons, father Steve and daughter Amanda and son Tyler, knew that Emily was stopping by, and had told the audience to expect her. When Emily and her family walked into the club, the audience began to applaud, and Steve Wilkinson called her to the stage, where he introduced her. She was then asked to sing a duet with Amanda, and after a five minute rehearsal in the ladies powder room, they sang. This was so well received, that before she was allowed to leave the stage, she had to sing a solo. She sang "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", one of the pieces she performed on television. When she returned to her family, she was asked how this compared with "Home Grown Cafe* and replied, "Oh this was even better."
