Deadline for May issue of the Mirror - 28 April, 1995 - Shelagh Kendal Any full moon can be a time to wonder about our place in the natural scheme of things. While looking up at the perfect orb and watching the path of its reflection streaming across the land, or the water, it is easy to understand how primitive people viewed a similar sight with awe. But in modern times, the three full moons in spring have taken on particular significance. Since 1945, meditating groups all over the world have made all fui moons their special time for con- centrating attention on the need to heal and strengthen planet earth. Through sending out thoughts of love and light at these times, many are confident that in some way they are strengthening the power of good of the Great Masters of the Universe - God, Yahweh, Allah, Buddha - whatever they are called. A full moon is an opportunity for seeing ciearly, for channelling universal energy in a positive direc- tion, and so for seeding new patterns of cooperation among all peoples. And the full moons of the months of Aries, Taurus and Gemini are the most powerful. What is sown in spring can be harvested in the fall. This year they wiil occur on Aprii 15, May 14 and June 13. It is said that at the end of World War Il, with the exploding ofthe atom bomb, the Great Masters were aware that because our planet was in danger of destroying itself, extra held was required to teach us how to live on harmony. So each year the For- ces of Restoration release three new energies in spring to raise our con- sciousness. What we do with them is up to us. The Aries full moon heralds a western festival, which is the begin- ning of a new cycle representing the resurrection and renewal of the Christ consciousness in all human Spring Full Moons beings. It is a wake-up call to the need for rebirth and time to begin again. Traditional Easter is always celebrated on the following Sunday. But this year Easter has unusual im- portance as it is also a lunar eclipse. That means it is atimefor heightened sensitivity and an opportunity to recognize and forgive past mistakes, our own and others, so we can begin the new cycle with a clean sheet. A bit of spiritual spring cleaning now will make the future so much easier. The second stream of energy, or consciousness, is sent out with the Taurus full moon. This is the Wesak (pronounced wee-sack) festival sacred io the East and associated with Buddha who brings enlighten- ment as well as love. It is perhaps the most collective, showing the needto direct our personal and com- munity power with greater wisdom and objectivity. Although it is celebrated all over the world, the central drama is played out in a remote valley of Tibet, so it is said, where many prophets and holy in- itiates gather to welcome the spirit of Buddhawhich returns briefly to bless the Earth. The third festival is universal and comes at the time of the Gemini full moor, which will be four minutes past midnight, June 13. This Festival of Goodwill specially concerned with improving communications so that ail love and wisdom gained through the Easter and Wesak moons can be spread around with the Gemini facility for words, It is the time to remember that ali words and thoughts have energy, and what we say and think have repercussions in ways which we need to be aware. Conveying our news with integrity and concern helps the messenger deliver the messages clearly and with love. When we are prepared to do alittie rethinking to see how futile and destructive sharp arguments, untruths and negative thoughts can be we may learn the wisdom of posi- tive thinking and apologising or stay- ing silent. If so, this festival will abe a time of revival and optimism. People who meditate or pray regularly may like to know that doing so at the time of these three full moons adds strength to their efforts, But anyone can join in by sending food feelings towards our wounded planet and its confused inhabitants. Just wishing it iuck will help. And we can all do with a bit of that. What we send out is due to come back like a boomerang in six months time, Umpires Wanted Anyone 16 years and older (male orfemale), interested in making afew extra dollars umpiring Minor Softball this summer, please call Cathy Walker at 476-4700.
