The South Marysburgh Mirror} The kids are back in school, the fair (Milford Fair of course) is over and we've had our first frost... must be fall. Now that summer is over we have the time to do all those things we have put off. You know... all those things you couldn't do because it was too warm, there was company coming, it was summer, the office was being moved. And we have the time right?... wrong. Whatever happened to that period in the fall when we could enjoy the fruits of our labours and finish up the garden work on those sleepy autumn days? Put in a few tulips while the last of the bees visited the autumn crocus or the chrysanthemums. Either its my imagination or the older I get, the more there seems to be to do and get done, and the less time, there seems, to do it in. But that's the way of it. For those of you who have missed the transition, the South Marysburgh Township Office is located at the Town Hall in Milford. It is open for business from 9 to 12 in the morning and from 1 to 4 in the afternoon. Unlike in the days of the office being in the house, if you came at lunch time to do business, Oh Where, Oh Where did the Office Clifford ate a later lunch, now if you come during his lunch hour, he doesn't get lunch. Times are changing, and the office is changing with them. This may be something of an inconvenience for some, but there is a slot in the door, so if your taxes must be paid, just slip them through the slot. Or if you are really desperate, you can mail them to Township of South Marysburgh, P.O. Box 12, Milford, Ontario, KOK 2P0. The phone number remains the same, 476-6771 and if you call after hours and wish your call returned, please leave a message on the answering machine and someone will get back to you. Now, you ask, what are we going to do with all the space vacated in our house by the office move? That's the fun part. We're going to live in it... after the ceiling is fixed, the rooms are painted and a few minor bits of rearranging are done. Why you won't know the old homestead. I've only just got a good start on the kitchen and already I've lost the coffee maker, until I remember it's at the other end of the counter. . - Bev Walker TIME TO RETHINK byShelagh Kendal hree times a year the cosmos presents specific opportunities for changing our minds and reconsidering actions and attitudes. This happens when the planet closest to the Sun, Mercury, appears to be going backwards and is a phenomenon known as "Mercury retrograding". Mercury is the fastest planet, sprinting around at 30 miles (50 kms), per second and is a mere 36 million miles from the Sun while we are 93 million away from it. In mythology Mercury, the messenger of the gods, was the go-between for heaven and earth, and in the language of astrology it represents communication, the way we speak, think and move. Whenever it goes retrograde, as it is doing right now, it is like having the personal phone lines linking our surroundings to our mind, repaired. In fact, for three weeks, the electro-magnetic fields all over the world are changing and that can be very confusing. Even though communication gets scrambled so that messages get lost, dighits aclayed, and computers, radios and TV do not always work as usual, this period can be useful. But beware! This is not the best time to deal with electrical gadgets and when signing documents take special care to read the fine print.
