If the birds that are back are anything to go by it's spring but yesterday's weather made it feel like early summer and a week or so ago's was definitely winter. And the weather must have some influence on the politics of this country. A week or so ago Jean Charest was a Conservative and now he's a Liberal. I didn't used to think that Liberals and Conservatives were any more inter- changeable than winter and summer but if the weather can prove me wrong, why not a politician aye? We have all figured out where to pay our taxes and who to phone about pot holes in the road so all is right with the world. Behind the scenes some very dedicated people are working to keep it that way. Our library is still at risk but Janet Elson and the Library board are not going to give that up without a struggle. Recreation has become the umbrella group that will oversee the halls. ball diamonds and recreational facilities in this ward but Recreation needs to know that there 1s support from the community. Give a call to either the library or to Joel Walker (Chair of the Recreation Committee) if you wish to offer support or to just find out what's going on. Reducing provincial health costs by turning our hospital into an emergency and out-patient facility will certainly not better the world nor will it brings down the cost of health care.
