President Margaret Crouse got us off on the right foot with her opening gem - If necessity is the mother of invention, why does so much unnecessary stuff get done?" Thought for the Day - a reading "Just for Today" was read by Alice Miller in Marge Drury's absence. Marg Ceh read the minutes of the last meeting which were approved. Ten members answered roll call telling of their Easter traditions. Thank yous were received from Don and Wilma Creasy and Bill and Mary Creasy for 40th Anniversary gifts. Treasurer Wilma Creasy notified us of our financial status which needs some boosting at this time. Our card secretary, Freda Spice, sent get well cards to Nellie Creasy, Anne Moore and Marge Drury and sympathy cards to Stan Vincent and George and Ruth Ackerman. Two parts of our constitution were discussed and changes made and voted to be accepted by members. A thank you letter for the hand made quilts sent to the homeless people in TO was received and red. Past President Jean Burrows presented Marg Purcell with our plaque for her services rendered to the group for 1998. 4H leader, Angela Miller, spoke to us briefly about business concerning 4H. She explained that because 4H is a non-profit group, they sent letters to council to complain of having to pay rental for the use of the halls. She thanked the Circle for our donation to their group and told us the many ways it had been utilized. She informed us that the group would do the trash bash for us for which we will give a donation. We are proud to report that Angela is now Regional Director for 3 or 4 counties. Congratulations and best wishes, Angela, on this new venture. President Margaret, closed the meeting proper with the "Ballad of the Brown Bag." Marianne Donavan and Wanda Post from Alternatives for Women gave a very enlightening talk on the services provided by this organization.
