Hopefully there are a few people still hammering away at their computers, rather then wandering around outside in the glorious WARMTH. Wait, what am 1 saying; hopefully you are reading this outdoors. This month we will broach the subject of free things available over the net. Almost everywhere you surf, these days, you see flashing buttons, annoying pop ups, more annoying pop ups, more and more annoying pop ups. Oh, you know this scene already-- hmmm. Almost all of them advertise something for free. I truly doubt that anything you find behind these links will be free. But as a good start for a free program that might help with the pop up syndrome I spoke about earlier. You can surf to tucows at www. Tucows.com. this is a tremendous site for freeware shareware and demo where. Search on the site, for a program, under the internet heading, look for web browser tools. You should find Ad killers in the list beneath tools. Choose one of these programs to get rid of those pop ups. Download it and install it and the best thing is they are free to either use or try. You will notice that I referred to shareware, freeware, and demoware earlier. Shareware is usually software that is fully functional for a period of time. After that time is over, you are asked to either register or send the programmer a small fee. These programs can range from the excellent to the awful, we usually pay attention to the descriptions on tucows or some of the other download sites. Freeware is similar except you pay nothing for it. Demoware is usually a small or lite version of a bigger program that is usable for a specific time period.
