South The Meeting of the U.C.W. was held at South Bay United Church Hall on Wednesday, April 16th, at 1:30 p.m. President Sandra Emlaw opened with a short reading enti- tled "Grow Lovely Growing Old." Next was our purpose, Theme Hymn and the Lord's Prayer. Marg Crouse's devotional was based on Proverbs 10 verse 7 - "How Are You Spending Your Life? Sixteen members answered roll call with many in- teresting articles for Show & Tell. Some were felted wool items, quilts, pictures and toll pictures and an old traveling sewing kit. Secretary Maureen Rudd read the minutes of the March Meeting which were approved. Card Secretary Donna Loney sent 2 get well cards. The Treasurer's report brought us up to date on our finances. Our secretary is to send thank you cards to our guest singers for World Day of Prayer and also to Vicki Emlaw for preparing hummus for us to partake of at the same event. Spring Fling is at Westminster United Church in Belleville on Thursday, May 8th. Social Convener Alice Miller reported on require- ments for Easter Sunrise service on Sunday April 20th and also for the bird watchers' supper on Saturday May 3rd. Secretary Maureen will put ads in the local papers for our anniversary supper on Wednesday May 28th. Brenda Mi- naker will have posters to advertise this event also. Our offering was received and dedicated and the Meeting was adjourned. As our time was fast fleeting we left some activities for our May Meeting. Marge Drury and Alice Miller provided lunch.
