ER aes: First some trivia... "It seems like every county employee has a truck pro- vided." There are 21 half ton trucks. Just so you know - and so you can tell others. There are nearly 300 employees in the municipality so no, everyone does not have a truck. These 21 trucks make it possible for the County to be "cared for from Carrying Place to Point Petre to Long Point to Cressy Lakeside to Green Point to Rossmore by the staff in Public Works ( Roads and Water/Sewer De- partments) and Community Services (Parks and Physi- cal Properties) to cover 3 Roads Patrol Areas, 7 Water Service Areas, 2 Sanitary Service Areas plus the parks, museums, libraries, halls, community centres and the of- fice and work site buildings which number over 100. I know the next question: "Why do we need 100 spaces to do the County's work ?" That's for the next column! Fkkkokkkkkkk Statutory and Advisory Committees During January there will be a couple of newspaper ads for volunteers to sit on a variety of legislated and advi- sory committees that will report to the " Standing Com- mittees" of Council. These statutory and advisory com- mittees cover police services, museums, Millennium Trail, etc. Please consider applying for one or more of these committees. Before I got on Council, I did not know they existed but I now know they are critical to having good input to Council decisions.
