After Dinner Mirt Archie and I and Watch all went out on the Ice for a skate the Ice was lovely. Coming home I had the misfortune of getting tangled up in the hand sleigh rope and Watch pulled me round and round till I was all most killed. It was big fun for Mirt. Then about Four Oclock Emma Willie Pa Archie Mirt and I all went out to Eddie Rorkes spent the evening had a fine time. Feb. 22 The trees were loaded down with Ice and rained and kind of a sleet most of the four noon. After dinner it faired up and I went up to Jakes after a load of stumps had a very rough time coming home got stuck by John Churches. Nelse Ostrander hitched on a head and broke the tong pulling side ways on it. But we spliced it up and came on home but it was very rough with frozen rain. John Dulmage up at night. Feb. 23 I went up to Manson Heads got a new tongue in the sleigh. Mirt Archie and I went out to Leaque at night. Sat. 24 I went over to Waupoos Island with Levi Hicks af- ter a load of straw for him had a rough time coming home snowed and rained most all the way. Went threw to the creek. First we have driven the Ice then I had to keep up around the flats to keep on the old Ice. Sun. 25 John Dulmage Emma Hughes Willie and Harry Brown were here very very cold. not much drive. Tue. 27 Some warmer Archie and I went up to Nelse Ostrander to cut wood over on Eldon Vandusen I came home at night Archie stayed up. Mirt is piecing for a quilt.
