Our Theme Hymn, purpose and Lord's Prayer were said by all. Irene Robb's devotional was based on Matthew 5, Verse 9 - Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God. We observed a moment of si- lence to Remember our soldiers and all who contributed to making peace in our world. We sang "Let there be Peace on Earth." A last thought which makes sense - Children don't remember war - the best reason of all to wear a poppy. Minutes were read by Secretary Irene. Sixteen members answered Roll Call by recalling an event associ- ated with WW II. Sixteen sick calls were made and cards sent to remember those ill or having lost a loved one. Barb Balsillie moved and Alice Miller seconded that we donate our collection to the Poppy Fund which sup- ports our Veterans. Carried. A thank you was received from the Registrar of Camp Quin-Mo-Lac for our donation which helps our lo- cal children enjoy the benefits of the camp. Plans for cater- ing the Kiwanis supper, our Christmas Luncheon and Ba- zaar, were finalized. Our U.C.W. is supplying lunch following the Carol service at South Bay Church on December 11th, at 7:30. There will be no meeting as such, just a social time with entertainment supplied by Marge Drury and Alice Miller. Saturday, December 3rd - The Ladies of the Cherry Valley United Church and community are having a Bake Sale and Craft Sale in the Church Hall from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. All Vendors are local Artists or Groups offering hand crafted items sure to please someone on your gift list and a Cherry Valley Bake Sale is always a must go event. Reserve Tuesday, December 13th for Milford's An- nual Community Christmas at 6:30 p.m. on the Post Of fice lawn. Please start to decorate your barrels & planters for the winter season before they freeze. Wednesday December 14th - South Bay U.C.W. will meet at South Bay United Church Hall at 12:00 noon for a pot luck lunch.
