Your Fish Fry Committee: Don Farrington, Carol Branscombe, Sam Lanfranco, Bruce Dowdell, Stephen Empringham, Janna McCarthy, Monica Alyea Notes from... South Bay United Church - By Dorothy Speirs Sunday, July 16" was an important day in the life of our South Bay Church as we celebrated the renewal of the covenant between our church, Reverend Phil Hobbs and the district council of the United Church of Cana- da. The Reverends Aaron Miechkota, Phil Wilson and Darren Liepold represented the East Central Ontario Re- gional Council of the United Church of Canada while Rev- erend Joe Ramsay provided a wonderful, inspirational musical tribute. Our church community is truly fortunate to have Rev- erend Phil with us once again. And, as always, everyone is welcome to join us for Sunday worship at 9:30 a.m., with coffee hour fol- lowing on the first Sunday of the month. On another front, the “Perfectly Preserved” team from the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary continue to use the church kitchen to prepare jams, jellies and preserves which are all sold at County markets to support our local hospital. Once again this year, the team is the fortunate re- cipient of many generous do- nations — asparagus, blueber- ries, garlic scapes, crabapples, and so much more, all of which is transformed into both familiar and unusual treats. As always, the team sends out a sincere thank-you to all who donate produce as well as used canning jars. Watch for the team in Au- gust at the Picton Town Hall Farmers’ Market (August 6 & 20), at the Wellington Farm- ers’ Market at the Eddie (August 12) and at the Wel- lington Community Market at the Wellington United Church (August 26). For the first time this year, the team will also be at the Womens’ Institute Art and Craft Sale on Thurs- day, August 3 from 9 AM to 7 PM at the Picton Fair Grounds.
