The South Marysburgh Mirror October 2023/ 5 LOVE YOUR LIBRARY -By Dorothy Speirs Once again, the 2023 Mil- ford Fall Fair was an enor- mous success — one of the highlights of our community year. Hundreds of people turned out to enjoy the ex- hibits, the food, the games, and the vendors’ area, all on areally glorious day. Your Milford Library par- ticipated as usual, with activ- ities for young and old. For the kids, we offered a huge table of Lego. The children were invited to make their own Lego creations, which they could then take home as a souvenir of the Fair. More than Just Books—Take a Look The book tables also gen- erated a great deal of inter- est. Visitors to the Fair were asked to take as many books as they wanted on any sub- ject which interested them and, as payment, to make a donation to the Milford Li- brary. Their generosity was extraordinary and we ended the day with $750 in our cash box. This money is earmarked for improvements to our lo- cal library. To that end, we'll soon be putting a suggestion box in the library and are asking all of you to think about what you might like to see added to our premises. And, in conclusion, don’t forget that there’s much more than reading going on at our library. Each week, the library hosts a meeting of the Milford French club and a knitting circle to which all are welcome. Two book clubs also meet at the library on a monthly basis. For information on these activities, get in touch with the library at 476-4130 or email Kathy at kelly@peclibrary.org.
