Austin was born in Lindsay, Ontario on April 27, 1942. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Beverley Baker McLuhan, daughter Cindy McLuhan, son David McLuhan, and granddaughter Calli-Lynn Nora Seguin. Austin worked in the offices of General Motors for 32 years. Later on, he was involved in the computer industry but he never lost his love of working on cars. James was born in Toronto on July 29, 1949 and passed away in Haliburton Hospital peacefully with family by his side at the age of 72 after a long battle with COPD. James (aka Jim) retired in Haliburton several years ago with his wife Jane as they loved the simplicity of nature and tranquility of the cottage life. Some of his hobbies included; spending time with his family, walking his dog Ralphie, and reading. Also, Jim had a great love for the sport of hockey. He was a huge fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and rarely missed a single game. To know Jim was to love Jim. He was disciplined, patient, hardworking with a heart of gold who preferred to live a simple life. Jim will be deeply missed but never forgotten and will forever be loved by his family. David passed after losing a long battle with COPD at the age of 65. David was a loving father with 3 wonderful children, he was a hard worker and was kind hearted. David was a happy-go-lucky person who had a deep passion for the martial arts. He also had a love for music, one of his favourite songs was "Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay" by Otis Redding. Dave is likely doing just that right now with his father Doug. David is predeceased by his father Douglas. He is survived by his mother Margaret, his children Richard, Adam and Leah, his grandchildren Victoria, Keira and Logan, his brothers Joe, Rick and Steven, and his sister Marie and all his nieces, nephews and friends.
