On Monday, Dec. 5, at about 2:45 p.m., a Durham police officer stopped a driver who was driving on a bike path in Ajax. "Um ... this isn't a road ... it's a bike path," the police tweeted out. On Friday, Dec. 2, the driver of a speeding vehicle was pulled over in the Hwy. 7 and Westney Road area of Pickering. "The road side investigation also revealed cannabis readily available. It was determined the driver was sober and appropriate charges laid," the police tweeted. Also on Dec. 2, at about 7:25 p.m., officers stopped a van allegedly going 109 km/h in a 60 km/h zone in Whitby. The incident happened in the Baldwin and Canary streets area. "This aggressive driver put others at risk and the appropriate corrective action was taken," police tweeted. On Thursday, Dec. 1, at about 7:30 p.m., a pickup truck driver was stopped while driving at 105 km/h in the Thickson and Columbus roads area in Whitby. Finally, on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at about 6:55 p.m., a vehicle driver was stopped for speeding in the Highway 7 and Salem Road area of Pickering. The vehicle was clocked at 109 km/h, police noted. "Service Plate paint was sliding off and failed to surrender ownership and insurance. Appropriate charges laid and ensure you have all your valid documents," police tweeted.
