Voter turnout in Durham was the lowest in Oshawa and Scugog at 18.42 per cent and 18.34 per cent respectively, and the highest in Uxbridge at 39.6 per cent. In the last municipal election in 2018, 38.3 per cent of eligible voters across Ontario cast a ballot, which was the lowest number reported by the province since 1982. The Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) is reporting an unofficial voter turnout of 37 per cent in Ontario for the 2022 municipal election. AMO says the number of municipalities using online or phone voting as a way to make it easier to vote increased by 24 per cent -- from 175 municipalities in 2018 to 217 in 2022. Below is the data for each municipality in Durham. OSHAWA 18.42 per cent Out of 121,885 eligible voters, 22,456 cast a ballot. WHITBY 23.35 per cent Out of 102, 234 eligible voters, 23,872 cast a ballot. AJAX 22.5 per cent Out of 85,443 eligible voters, 19,205 cast a ballot. PICKERING 27.24 per cent Out of 76,305 registered voters, 20,786 cast a ballot. SCUGOG 18.34 per cent Out of 18,318 eligible voters, 3,359 cast a ballot. UXBRIDGE 39.6 per cent Out of 17,006 eligible voters, 6,736 cast a ballot. BROCK 38.2 per cent Out of 10,604 eligible voters, 4,049 cast a ballot. CLARINGTON 28 per cent Out of 73,471 eligible voters, 20,606 cast a ballot.
