- Helen A. Kania, 90, of Crystal Lake, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at her home in Crystal Lake. She was born July 1, 1914, in Chicago, to Ignatius and Lottie Powyszynski. She was the adoptive daughter of Walter and Lottie Szaszkowski. She married Frank P. Kania on June 10, 1939, at St. Michael Catholic Church in South Chicago. She is survived by Janet Bott of Huntley and Algonquin.
