- Frank John Bonk, 97, of McHenry, died October 17, 2013 at JourneyCare Hospice in Barrington. He was born November 8, 1915 in Chicago to John Bonk and Katherine Jacek. He was the father of Patricia Lee Boeglin, Joyce K. Hoveland, and Ronald K. Bonk. He was the husband of Marion Ann Schaffer whom he married on June 21, 1941 at Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Chicago. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother, Leonard; five sisters, Josephine Bonk, Mary Bresky, Vanda Robertson, Emma Schwartz, and Francine Smetana; and a daughter, Joyce K. Hoveland. He is survived by a daughter, Patricia Lee Boeglin; a son, Ronald K. Bonk; nine grandchildren, and sixteen grandchildren. Burial will be in Windridge Memorial Park in Cary.
