- Florence M. Ahrens, 89, of Algonquin, died October 17, 2013 in McHenry at Centegra Hospital. She was born May 12, 1924 in McHenry to Joseph Charles and Lillian (Stone) Botts. She was the mother of Larry Shearer, Stephen Zange, Stewart Zange, Robert Shearer of Gold Canyon, Arizona, Marilyn Scharlau of Algonquin, and Sandra Butler of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, her three sons, Larry, Stephen, and Stewart, her granddaughter, Kimberly, her grandson, Jeffrey, and her great-grandson, Donald. She is survived by three children, Robert, Marilyn, and Sandra, 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, a brother, Robert Botts, three sisters, Barbara Hutchinson, Patricia Self, and Elsie Bicknase, a special nephew, Robert C. Botts, and many nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Woodstock.
