- Eugene M. Straus, 74, died February 11, 2014 at Journey Care Hospice in Barrington. He was born April 2, 1939 in Chicago to Michael and Olga (Kocowsky) Straus. He was the father of Ron Maas, Khristy (Mike) Lester, Susan Straus, Michelle Straus, and John Straus. He was the husband of Mary Lou (Matter) Straus. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Dennis, and his granddaughters, Amanda and Evalyn Lester. He is survived by his wife, his children, his brother Jim Straus, several cousins, a niece, and nephews.
