- Laverne Bruens, 77, of McHenry , died on February 15, 2014 at Centegra Hospital. She was born on October 21, 1936 in Chicago to Frank and Sophie (Bystrowski) Klajbor. She was the mother of Dawn Chubeck, Michael Bruens, and Michelle Reed. She was the wife to Richard Bruens, whom she married on October 14, 1967. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Richard Bruens, her children, Dawn (Michael) Chubeck, Michael (Colleen) Bruens and Michelle (Robert) Reed, and her grandchildren, Jacob, Miranda, Kayla, Jack, Allie, Vanessa, and Haven. Burial will be at the Church of Holy Apostles' cemetery.
