John L. Sherwood, 86, of Crystal Lake, died February 19, 2014 in Crystal Lake. He was born May 27, 1927 in Chicago to Joseph and Kathryn Sherwood. He was the father of William, Jean (Reid) Anderson, Dolores (James) Gorski, John (Beth), Terrence (Larry), Timothy (Julie), Carol (Timothy) Kane, James (Maureen) Ringness, Kristin (James) Blake, Jennifer (Timothy) Schnepf, and Amy (Thomas) Perkins. He was the husband of Mary (nee Ringness) and Dolores (nee Mulachy). He was preceded in death by his first wife Dolores, parents, brothers Joseph and James, and sisters Rita, Margaret, and Patricia. He is survived by his wife Mary, children, brother Jeremiah (Sally), sister Marilyn (Tom), and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Burial will be in Crystal Lake Memorial Park.

- Richard W. Soderberg, 75, of Hemau, Germany, died February 17, 2014 in Regensberg, Germany. He was born April 23, 1938 in Elgin, Illinois to Sigfrid and Bertha (Wesman) Soderberg. He was the father of Kristina (Klaus) Kroehling, Sarah (Hoyt) Fisher, and Bennett (Jessie). He was the husband of Marie Anne Robinson, whom he married in 1973. He is survived by his wife, children, brother George (Janet), 5 grandsons, niece Lisa, and nephew Steve (Sheila).
