- Leonard H. Thennes, 95, of McHenry, died February 23, 2014. He was born February 6, 1919 in McCullom Lake to Philip M. and Catherine (Freund) Thennes. He was the father of James (Rita) Thennes, Jack (Linnea) Thennes, and Gary (Cathy) Thennes. He was the husband of MaryAnn Diedrich whom he married in 1944. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. He is survived by his children, his grandchildren, Jimmy (Stefanie), Todd (Niki), Scott, David, Christopher, Eric, Brooke, and Mark; his great-grandchildren, Drew, Mia, Zoe, Mandy, and Sean; his sisters, Stella Vogt and Bernice (Edward) Carson; a brother-in-law Michael Thill; and many nieces and nephews. Burial will be at St. Patrick's Churchyard Cemetery in McHenry.
