- The Springbank Snow Countess was the world record holder for lifetime production of butterfat. She produced 2 sons and 5 daughters, she was worth $25,000 at her prime. she was bred and owned by Thomas Roy Dent. She was the champion over all breeds producing a total of 4,119 kg of butterfat from 94,114 kg of milk in 10 lactations. The record was not broken for 18 years. This was also Canada's first memorial to a record breaking cow. the monument was unveiled on august 4, 1937, just a year after the cow died.
