- The Armouries were built in 1904, to house the members of the Oxford Rifles. In 1971 the Department of National Defense declared this building to be a surplus and it was converted into offices for the Oxford County Board of Education. The Oxford Rifles were disbanded in 1954 when they joined the RCRs in London.
