- John N. Meathrell was Oxford County's first engineer, this bridge was built to commemorate him. Meathrell oversaw the development of the county road system. The bridge was designed by engineers Ure and Smith and built by Arnott Construction. He was an engineer for the County from 1928 to 1968.
