- Description
- This object is a banner made in support of a past Brantford soccer club, the Brantford Falcons. It is made of silk-like fabric over a stiff backing material, and is half white and half green in colour. It is bordered with yellow string and features a yellow tassel on the end. The banner has a green and yellow crest attached to it showing the embroidered logo of the Brantford Falcons Soccer Club, which is a falcon atop a soccer ball in front of the letters "SC". The crest reads "Brantford Falcons Soccer Club".
- Notes
- This banner was made to support the Brantford Falcons Soccer Club, a local soccer team which was run out of the German clubhouse in Brantford. In 1975, the Brantford Falcons went on to win the Men's Ontario Cup for the first and only time in the club's history.
This banner was retrieved from the German clubhouse in Brantford after it closed in 2022. No date is provided for the banner.
More information about the Brantford Falcons and the Brantford German club can be found on the Brantford Public Library Digital Archive.
