- Postcard features a colour portrait of Alexander Graham Bell, inventor of the telephone, who resided in Brantford for periods of his life. The caption to the portrait reads "Alexander Graham Bell 1847-1922". The reverse of the postcard is left blank and does not feature an inscription, though there is a marking in pencil in the top right corner of the card which reads ".25", likely to denote the card's price.
Text on the reverse of the card reads:
"Alexander Graham Bell/ Born in Edinburgh, Scotland. He came to Canada with his parents. At the Brantford Homestead, where they settled, he conceived the idea of the telephone in 1874. Photo taken from the portrait by L.P. Panneton."
The area to place the stamp on the reverse of the card is left blank, and reads "Canadian Made". - Notes
