- The "Let's Speak Up" campaign took place in Brantford in 1982 and aimed to improve the image of the City of Brantford for both current and potential residents. The campaign strove to identify Brantford with several famous athletes with local origins and to promote city services and activities which set Brantford apart. The campaign also involved an open outreach to residents to submit their own responses to the local newspaper, the Brantford Expositor, about why they liked living in Brantford. This survey received 160 responses from residents, many of whom highlighted the city parks, the strong sense of local community, and events such as the International Villages Festival in their replies.
