Summary of Cultural Attributes:
Historical: This house is located on a 16-acre tract that is believed to be part of a 200-acre Crown Patent in 1817 to Cornelius Blount for all of Lot 6, Concession 3. In 1868, the north 100 acres was acquired by George Brownson, who is believed to have built the house c. 1875. In 1878, the northeast 50 acres were sold for $1000 to Corey Farrow and it stayed in that family name until 1948. In 1956, the Ontario Department of Highways acquired the property, as well as the north half of adjacent Lot 5 for the construction of Highway 401. In 1957, a 16-acre tract with the house and some land from both lots was purchased by Charles C. and Betty I. Mutton. The present owner, Robert S. Stoll acquired the property in 2003.

Architectural: This 1 ¾ storey, red brick with white trim house is typical Ontario 19th century Gothic Cottage style - a rectangular shape with a central wide front entrance topped by a peaked gable with a gothic window below (the window is actually rectangular, topped by a wood filled arch; both are believed to be the original). The lower floor doors and windows have slight arched lintels. It has a red steel roof. The soffits and fascia are believed to be original.
