Summary of Cultural Attributes:
Historical: The Bibby House is situated on a ½ acre lot that is part of a 200-acre, 1814 Crown grant to Josiah Proctor, one of the area's first settlers, for Lot 1, Concession 2. The property became Lots 16 and 17 on Plan 28 by land surveyor AC. Webb, April 27, 1867. Although some references indicate the house and a detached shed were built on Lot 16 circa 1880s, the present house was built (or rebuilt) by William E. Bibby in 1910. (William was the son of Edwin Biddy, who had another Bibby house just up the street). It remained in the family until 1961, when it was purchased by Patricia Thompson. Robert P. and Kathryn J. Marshall acquired the house in 2008.

Architectural: This large white frame, 2 ½ storey house is Queen Anne in style. It has an open veranda (now screened) that extends across the front and on one side of the house and a rear tail. Most of the widows are simple one-over-one, except for a three-part arrangement in one side gable.
