Howard Ames: On Sunday, April 29th, Hugh Howard Ames passed way suddenly at the home of Mr. Herbert Taylor, 3rd Conc. of Brighton Township. He was in his 60th year and was the eldest son of the late Maurice Ames and Gertrude McColl of Codrington. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. James Arnott (doris) and two granddaughters, Pamela and Laura of Oshawa; one brother, Oscar of Toronto; and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Bird (Helen) of Carrying Place and Mrs. jack Drewry (Laura) of Toronto. Funeral service was conducted on Tuesday, May 1, at K. Snider Funeral Home, Brighton, by Donald Rutherford of Carman United Church. The pallbearers were Lloyd Ames, Owen Clark, Clarence Woof, Reginald Taylor, Arthur Ames and Wilfred Van Blaricom.
