Note: This picture taken in front of the old machine shed that is behind the Ames farm house, next to the hog yard. Educated guessl; I grew up there.13

Note: William Richardson Ames died Jan 21 1959. This would appear to refer to Village Lot 12 although it is not mentioned as such. Art Ames lived in the old Sutherland house at Lot 12 which he inherited from his mother.12

Mr. and Mrs. William Ames of Codrington will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary August 10. All members of the family will gather around their parents and grandparents for the occassion. Helping their parents celebrate will be: Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Ames and Barbara of Petawawa, Mina of Belleville, Mr. and Mrs. Everett (Bernice) Ellis of Wooler, Mr.s and Mrs. Arthur Ames of Codrington.11
•Note: 21 January 1959; Brighton Twp., Codrington, Northumberland Co., Ontario; Funeral notice in newspaper in 1959: William Richardson Ames; Trenton - The funeral of William Richardson Ames, who died at his residence in Codrington on January 21, in his 81st year, was held in Saturday afternoon fro the family residence to McPhail's cemetery, wooler. Rev. John McCallum officiated.
Bearers were Robert Hazelwood, Wm. Moran, Ed. Quinn, Ross O'Halloran, Wifred Jamieson and John Goodfellow. The funeral was under the direction of the Weaver Funeral Home, Trenton.
Mr. Ames, a retired farmer, was a native of Brighton Twp. and had lived in that area all his life. He was a son of the later Mr. and Mrs. James Ames. He is survived by his wife, the former Ida Gainforth, and by two daughters, Miss Mina Ames of Belleville and Mrs. Everett (Bernice) Ellis of Wooler; two sons, Arthur of Codrington and Cecil of Camp Petawawa, a grand-daughter, Barbara Ames of Camp Petawawa, and a brother, John Ames of Codrington.
His death followed an illness of a week's duration. He was a member of Codrington United Church. (Brighton Ensign)6
