Dear father of Bryle (Mrs. Joseph Leith), Lindsay (Lyle), Trenton, Percy, Peterborough, Delbert, Codrington and Donald, Bowmanville. Brother of Gordon Carr, Castleton. Also survived by seventeen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Resting at the R. W. Machey Funeral Home, Brighton, from Saturday at 7 p.m. for funeral service on Monday at 2 pm. More than 200 relatives and friends called during the afternoon to pay their respects. .... "Mr. and Mrs. Carr lived in the red brick house at the corner of Highway 30 and the Old Wooler Road for many years."" They lived in Brighton and area ll their lives before they decided to give up housekeeping and take up residence in Oshawa, last October. Mrs. Carr is the former Ethel Phillips, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Phillips, Codrington. She and Walter Carr were united in marriage at her parents home on September 8, 1907 by Rev. D. Crouter assited by Rev. Coumbs. They have five children - Lyal, Trenton, Mrs. (Beryl) Joseph Leith, Lindsay, percy, Peterborough, Donald, Bowmanville and Delbert, Codrington."
