Residence: 7 June 1976; Bayview Drive, Roseland Acres, Carrying Place, Ontario; "Diamond Anniversary; A sprightly couple living on Bayview Drive, Roseland Acres, who do not mind telling their ages, celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary Sunday surrounded by their family, neighbors and friends of long standing. Mr. and Mrs. Caleb R. Cole, who moved to their Carrying Place home 10 years ago, lived 50 of their married years on a farm midway between Wooler and Codrington across from McPhail's Cemetery. Mr. Cole was well-known in the district as a Holstein breeder, a labor of love he enjoyed for 40 years. When recalling early days on the farm, Mrs. Cole fondly recollected taking their three daughters, Virginia, Mildred and Nadine and walking the distance to Friends Church (Quakers) where the girls attended Sunday School. ... The time since their marriage in her parents home, Addison and Rosalind (Tweedle) Stimers on the Telephone Road north eas of Colborne on June 7, 1916 has been rewarding to Caleb and Irma Cole. Their marriage was solemnized by Rev. Batstone of the Salem Circuit of the United Church. The pianist Addie (Rorabeck) Barrow is now living in Missouri, and although she is in her late 80's is still teaching music. They raised three daughters, Virginia Argue, Toroto, Mildred Sherwood, Markham and Nadine Thorne, Sty. Catharines. They spoke so proudly of their five grandchildren, Lynn Sherwood, Ottawa, Susan Sherwood Flynn, Toronto, Jack Sherwood, Markham, Douglas Thorne, Toronto and Donald Thorne, Perth. The family circle was completed when six month old Stephanie Thorne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Thorne made her debut into the world in January. (Hand written note: "Mr. and Mrs. Cole lived many years on the Old Wooler Road, near McPhail's Cemetery.")"
