- Description
- "For more than 100 years, Gosport, once known as Freeman’s Point, was a hustling, bustling community with four shipping docks, warehouses, boatbuilding facilities, and a prison for American captives during the War of 1812. It was famous for its fishing industry, infamous for rumrunning, and retains its historic character.
