This collection of photographs depicts barns throughout the Municipality of Brighton.
The goal was to capture high quality images of these agricultural structures – to illustrate their role in the Municipality’s agricultural history - before they suffered potential loss due to time, weather, fire, and the vagaries of modern farming.
We identified almost 200 barns in the municipality, and were able to secure photographs of almost 125, which are presented in this collection, complete with ownership information and structural details.
We extend our appreciation to the volunteer photographers who captured these images, and to the farmers and landowners who gave us access and time during their busy summer.
We appreciate feedback on these images and the associated data to make it as accurate as possible.
This is a work in progress, with more photography scheduled for late spring 2018, which will complete the first phase of the project.
