Description
This Latin American and Caribbean Labour Report (published in Toronto) newsbrief details the People's National Congress (PNC) campaign of repression against workers and political opponents, including members of the Working People's Alliance (WPA), in Guyana.
Notes
The Working People's Alliance (WPA) is a democratic socialist party founded by the Marxist historian Walter Rodney. Formed by the unification of the Working People's Vanguard Party, the African Society for Cultural Relations with Independent Africa, and the Indian Political Revolutionary Associates, the WPA was a major critic of the People's National Congress (PNC), which ruled the country in the 1970s and 1980s.
