Description
A pamphlet published by the Mouvement Haïtien de Libération about the Haitian refugee crisis during the Mariel Boatlift from Cuba. The document describes the double standards applied to Black Haitians seeking asylum and the criticism from members of the U.S. Congressional Black Caucus. It advocates for "the destruction of the imperialist system" as the solution to the problem.
Notes
The CERLAC Resource Center has several related articles on the Haitian refugee crisis by Marty Goodman and Jack Lieberman, fellow reporters and activists for refugee rights based in Miami, FL. Their publications are located alongside with those of another prominent journalist and refugee activist Kim Ives. The source are held in the LAWG Haiti Country Files.
