Jamaican poet Lorna Goodison, formerly the writer-in-residence at the University of the West Indies, Mona, discusses how she uses poems as a medium for channeling the suffering of Caribbean peoples—specifically in the aftermath of Hurricane Gilbert. She is the author of "Jamaica Women: An Anthology", of "I am Becoming My Mother", and of "Heartease".
