- reads in part: "MAEDEL'S / BEVERAGES / LIMITED / ESSEX CHATHAM"; embossed on base: "D" within diamond over "4873 /RD-39/G"
- Maedel's Beverages was established in Chatham in the mid 1930s. Operations were originally conducted in the basement of Manager Ernie Cooke's house on Edgar Street. In 1939, Maedel's moved to 139 1/2 Richmond Street and by the mid 1950s a new building was constructed on Barrowman Drive. It ceased operation in the late 1980s.
