- piece of red felt and brass Royal Canadian Artillery pin pinned to front
- stamped in blue in interior, in part: "BASQUE BERET/7-1945/Dor----Knitting Mills/LIMITED/TORONTO"
- Raymond Harry Lamonte enlisted in the Canadian Army on August 23, 1943. He served in the 2nd Echelon - Royal Canadian Artillery and saw duty in Normandy, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He sailed to England and home again on the "Ile de France." Ray volunteered to serve in the Pacific and returned home on leave, the bomb was dropped on Hiroshima before his leave ended so he never went to serve in the Pacific.
