The Alumnae Association of the Chatham General Hospital Training School for Nurses was established in 1921. By 1960, seven additions had been added to the original hospital building. In 1964, a new Nurses' Education Building was opened. Since then, several construction projects have been undertaken, from the 1966 demolition of the original hospital building and subsequent construction of the new west wing (1968) to the 2004 establishment of the new Chatham-Kent Health Alliance which amalgamated Public General Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital. The School of Nursing was transferred to St. Clair College in 1973.
