- belonged to RCMP Constable James Alexander Kerr. He was killed by a car while investigating a car accident. Born in Ridgetown June 27, 1948. Died December 11, 1968
Hat (1999.5.3)
- light brown; stiffened felt; wide, flat brim; dark brown leather hat band (3.8 cm wide) with buckle; dark brown leather sweat band and chin strap.
- cardstock tag (black, white and gold) affixed with a white ribbon to back of sweat band; printed on tag "8 / 1" and on reverse "UNITED HATTERS CAP & MILLINERY W KRS".
- printed in gold on sweat band "R.C.M.P. / MAR -66" and "JOHN B. STETSON CO. / CANADA LIMITED / BROCKVILLE".
Hat form (1999.5.4A-D)
- brown, pressed board.
- rectangular base (A) with rounded corners and screw mounted in each corner; large oval cutout in centre. Hat rests on base and oval cover with cutout centre (B) fits over hat and rests on brim. Two flat rectangular bars (C & D) with holes in each end fit over screws and are held in place by thumbscrews.

B: L- 40.1 cm W- 36.5 cm H- 0.7 cm
C&D: L- 38 cm W- 3.4 cm H- 0.7 cm
