- Description / Description
- - round clear glass container with screw on metal perforated lid, the bottle bearing an art nouveau style paper label of green, blue, red, and beige flowers and foliage with the central wording: "VIOLET/TALCUM/POWDER" and at the bottom "Prepared at /BAWDEN's/DRUG STORE/ RIDGETOWN, ONT."
- P. Bawden was a chemist/pharmacist in Ridgetown c. 1900. He would have been the retailer of this talcum powder and has added his store's name to the bottom. The degree to which he actually "prepared" the product could range from mixing the contents on licence from the patent holder or he may simply have bottled it. This bottle would date c 1915.
