- the silver disc is attached to a straight bar suspender through which a red, white, and red ribbon passes
- mounted to the suspender is a silver bar bearing the words "FENIAN RAID 1866"
- rim of the mdeal is impressed with the recipient's information "Pte. W. H. Grandbois 1st. Chatham I. Co."
