Gas Company Announces New Installation Plan A new plan of operation, in order to stimulate the use of gas, and incidentally in the hope of pyroviding emploiyment local- ly, is announced today by Ontario Shore Gas Company, in con- nection with the installation of gas services to homes in Bow- manville. The plan provides for the payment in easy instali- ments of the cost of installing the necessary gas mains into homes, s0 as to spread the payments over a period of ten months. J. T. Milner, general manager of the company, in mak- ing this announcement, gave details as to the operation of the plan. In ail cases of new service, the main from the supply lines on the street to the property line of the house will be pro- vided free of charge, while the main from the property line to the house will be charged foir at the rate of 30 cents a foot, which includes the most of the pipe. Under the new system, one-third of this cost must be paid on installation, while the balance will be spread over a period of ten months, and added to the gas bill in ten equal instalîments. Thus, in the case of a home requiring twenty feet of mains from the property line into the building, the total cost would be $6.00. 0f this, two dollars would be paid at the time of installation, and the balance paid in ten monthly instaîlments of 40 cents each. Mr. Milner is hopeful that this new system will result in hundreds of services being orde;ned, and this, in turn, will enable him to keep his gang of workmen employed for some time.
